Belle Plaine’s Downtown Festival 3rd Annual Beer Tent welcomes the Whiskey Wagon!

Located centrally, there is a $1 cover charge. IDs will be checked and 21+ will be given a wristband at the gate. Remain in the designated area to drink. Friday the gates open at 5:00 pm and Saturday at 1:00 pm.

We will reserve the right to refuse admittance and service to anyone.

The Belle Plaine Historical Museum will open during the Downtown Festival. Come in and check out the displays of local history.

Climbing Wall

This is the real deal. 3 different levels of difficulty and excellent for all ages. 30-foot-tall rock climbing wall to the top complete with a bell if you can make it that high!

The climbing wall is a free event sponsored by the Belle Plaine Chamber of Commerce on Saturday, April 13th from 1 to 6 pm.

Duke & Duchess

The Duke and Duchess contest is sponsored by the Belle Plaine Area Chamber of Commerce and is open to girls and boys, ages 3-6 as of April 12, 2024. The Duke & Duchess Contest deadline is April 8th and will be presented on Saturday, April 13th at 10:30 am on the Downtown Stage.

CONTESTANTS MUST BE RESIDENTS OF USD #357 SCHOOL DISTRICT, The $12.00 Entry Fee includes a 2024 Downtown Festival T-shirt.

Completed Duke and Duchess Entry Form must be postmarked by April 8th, 2024.

Facial Hair Face Off

Hairy hijinks are returning to the Downtown Festival Stage on Saturday, April 13th! Open to men, women, and children of all ages. Whether you have carefully cultivated curls, fanciful faux fur, or the staunchest stash come Downtown and show off your best beard in the Facial Hair Face-Off! Trophies and prize packs for winners.

Festival Photo Contest

Belle Plaine’s Downtown FESTIVAL PHOTO CONTEST is open to anyone of any skill using any type of camera, including cell phones.

DEADLINE April 15th!

Photos must have been taken at the 2024 Belle Plaine’s Downtown Festival on April 11th, 12th, or 13th. Email them to belleplainefestival@gmail.com.

We will be accepting entries until April 14th. The Festival Planning Committee will choose 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners. Committee-chosen winners will receive $25, $15, and $10 cash prizes. The fan-favorite winner will receive $25.

Glow Run

Race to the stage on Friday, April 12th! Get your glow on in this 1-mile run/walk event for all ages. The race starts at 8:15 and the check-in will start at 7:45 p.m. on the corner of 6th and Merchant. The walk/run will end at 5th and Main. Get more information and register and pay here HERE.

Heart of America Men's Chorus

The Heart of America Men's Chorus will be putting on a show at 2:00 pm on Saturday, April 13th on the Downtown Stage!

The Heart of America Men’s Chorus (HOAMC) is a chorus located in Wichita, Kansas. Their goal was to perform for the joy of singing and to demonstrate a strong commitment to community involvement by contributing to charitable organizations in Wichita.

Duo Dads and their helpers have stepped up to run the Inflatables and Obstacle Course for the 2024 Downtown Festival! They are not just volunteering because their kids enjoy it, they are fundraising for the Belle Plaine Ministerial Alliance!

Saturday 1–6 pm at 7th & Merchant on the School Grounds.

$20 Wristbands can be purchased at the event. No pre-sales.

Kids will enjoy the 15’x15’ bounce house. All ages (including adults) can get in on the fun with the 22’ slide, jousting, and a 40’ obstacle course.

Do your littles feel the need for speed? Bring your power wheels, helmet, and kids to the Kids Power Wheels Races on Saturday, April 13th at the First Baptist Church at 6th and Linden.

Open to kids 4 and under and 5–10 years.

Registration begins at 1:00 p.m., line up at 1:30 p.m., and races start at 2:00 p.m. with three classes: Figure 8 Track Stock, Figure 8 Track Modified, and Stock Demo Derby. Rules and information can be found HERE.

Medallion Hunt

Get ready for the 2024 Belle Plaine’s Downtown Festival Medallion Hunt! Thank you to Matt and Kelly Lyons at Kansas Castings for continuing the tradition of providing the medallion. 

The hunt begins March 1st! Find clues in the Belle Plaine News and on Belle Plaine’s Downtown Festival Facebook page. The medallion hunt will go on until the medallion is found or the deadline is reached. Pick up a copy of the weekly Belle Plaine News to get your clues before they are posted to Belle Plaine’s Downtown Festival Facebook page the following Saturday morning. 

Participants must be at least 18 years of age. The medallion will be hidden on public property. No digging is required. To claim the prize the contestant must be wearing an official 2024 Belle Plaine’s Downtown Festival button or t-shirt when turning in the medallion at the Belle Plaine City Building no later than 11:00 am on Thursday, April 11th.

Buttons will be available for purchase from community organizations in early March and at local businesses in late March.

Watch or be part of the show on Friday at 7:00 pm on the Downtown Stage. Two entry divisions, Middle School and younger and High School and older. $5 entry fee. Get your Poster and Talent Show Entry Form here and register by the Thursday before the Downtown Festival.
